Internet Application Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Working in a mixed Windows/Linux environment
• Implementing hybrid architectures
• Configuring (firewalls, iptables, SSL VPNs, routers, load balancers, switches)
• Maintaining Server High Availability (clustering / load balancing)
• Managing high volume networks and large traffic websites
• Kernel level system tuning
• Server and database backups
• Additional System Administrator tasks as needed

Required Skills:

• 3+ years in a System Administrator role working with multiple clients
• Ability to provide high-level support for technical clients
• Ability to troubleshoot across multiple platforms
• Moderate to High level of experience in Bash, Perl, Ruby or Python scripting
• Understanding of various network topologies
• Experience with configuring and managing high volume networks
• Experience with Apache/Mongrel/Tomcat/IIS
• Experience managing MySQL and/or SQL Server
• Experience building and managing LAMP, RoR, Java, and/or ASP.NET web application environments
• Experience working with multiple Linux distributions (Redhat /CentOS )
• Expert understanding of network protocols
• Experience with DNS and LDAP
• Experience granting SSH and RDP access
• Experience with Xen Server 5+/Virtualization
• Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
